We're continuously improving our internal document analysis pipeline to better structure and understand complex documents. For this position, you'll work on integrating and refining document parsing components using Docling, with a focus on improving layout analysis, text segmentation, and metadata extraction to support downstream tasks like search and retrieval.

In this internship position, you will work on improving our document analysis pipeline by integrating and refining our layout analysis pipeline. This can me enhancing layout analysis, text segmentation, and structural metadata extraction or improvind downstream tasks such as classification, embedding, search and retrieval. You will evaluate existing tools and methods, prototype improvements, and integrate your results into our production pipeline.
We use Linear for project planning and GitHub & Graphite for managing our monorepo. Our architecture is microservice-based, with all services containerized using Docker. Our data pipeline is primarily written in Python. You're free to use any operating system and IDE of your choice. We encourage the use of AI coding tools and are happy to cover the cost of licenses for GitHub Copilot or Cursor.

In this internship position, you will work on new features in our webapp accros frontend and backend. We are a small team, so you will not work with polished Figma designs, but you will have a lot of ownership. We highly appreciate creativity and novel ideas.
